Aquests guardons, que s\u2019entregaran durant l\u2019acte institucional del pr\u00f2xim 9 d\u2019Octubre, reconeixen la traject\u00f2ria, el comprom\u00eds i l\u2019aportaci\u00f3 de col\u00b7lectius i persones que han contribu\u00eft de manera destacada al benestar com\u00fa i a la preservaci\u00f3 de la identitat local.<br\/><\/p>\n\n<p>Per una banda, la Fundaci\u00f3 Resid\u00e8ncia Germans Cholbi, creada en 1895, ha oferit de manera ininterrompuda atenci\u00f3 i acollida a les persones majors i m\u00e9s necessitades de X\u00e0bia. Amb m\u00e9s de 125 anys de servei, la instituci\u00f3 s\u2019ha consolidat com un referent en la cura de majors gr\u00e0cies a la tasca dels seus professionals en medicina, infermeria, psicologia, treball social i fisioter\u00e0pia, aix\u00ed com a la millora constant de les seues instal\u00b7lacions. Tot aix\u00f2 en l\u00ednia amb l\u2019objectiu fundacional marcat per Carlos Cholbi i Ba\u00f1uls: \u201calbergar els pobres malalts, impedits i desemparats, naturals o ve\u00efns de X\u00e0bia\u201d.<br\/><\/p>\n\n<p>Per una altra banda, es distingeix la Penya El Gerrot pel seu paper fonamental en la preservaci\u00f3 i promoci\u00f3 de les tradicions xabienques. Des de 1988, aquest col\u00b7lectiu organitza de manera altruista la Crem\u00e0 dels Trastos Vells, un acte que forma part essencial de l\u2019imaginari festiu local.
